Concept

Seoyeon Kim translates images gathered from digital environments into painting, exploring the blurred boundary between reality and fiction. Drawing inspiration from objects found on online marketplaces—such as vintage ornaments—her works reveal the tension between material presence and commodified imagery. By incorporating elements like barcodes or scale comparison props, Kim emphasizes the temporality and materiality of images that might otherwise seem intangible. Her practice ultimately questions how far the online world can be recognized as reality, offering a renewed perspective on visual experience.

Outline

Currently based in Tokyo and Aichi, artist Niimi Hiroki graduated from Tama Art University in 2014, and while working in advertising and other creative fields as an art director, he also began his artistic career.

Drawing on his formative experiences with American minimal and conceptual art, Niimi synchronizes his professional persona as a graphic designer and art director with his artistic practice. He attempts to transform art history from an intensely market-driven perspective, examining the relationship between artist and viewer.

【グループ展】In House:from the biscuit gallery Collection

biscuit gallery is pleased to announce the group exhibition “In House: from the biscuit gallery Collection.”
The exhibition will run from Saturday, January 31st to Sunday, February 15th, 2026.

In House:from the biscuit gallery Collection

Five full years have passed since the biscuit gallery opened. From our founding until today, we have met many talented artists and have exhibited their works.

The title of this exhibition, “In House,” includes the meaning of “inside” the gallery stemming from the idea to present an exhibition from the collection we currently have. New works prepared for this exhibition are mixed with works that have been carefully stored in our archives, and have been curated to be presented as a group exhibition.

We organised this exhibition in collaboration with the furniture brand “Scandinavian Furniture Megane” . We decided on this collaboration because we believe art doesn’t just remain in the white walls of a gallery space rather by being welcomed into someone’s “house” and becoming a part of life, the work takes on new meaning.

We hope you can feel the moment in which art blends into daily life through the addition of carefully selected furniture. Through this exhibition we hope to present where the past and future of biscuit gallery intersects.
