We are pleased to announce that Miyu Yamada, an artist represented by biscuit gallery, will take part in Zushi Art Festival 2026, held in the city of Zushi, Kanagawa. The festival runs from Saturday, October 3 to Sunday, October 25, 2026. In this special edition held once every three years, Yamada will present her work at two sites in the Zushi town area.
Based between Zushi and Tokyo, Miyu Yamada paints with sand-like materials, depicting what oscillates between the urban and the natural, spirit and matter, the verbal and the non-verbal. Here, works drawn from the light and time of the town where she lives will emerge within the everyday scenery of Zushi.
EXHIBITION SITES
01 Construction Hoarding in front of JR Zushi Station
Works will be shown as large-format prints on the construction hoarding in front of the station. This outdoor display spans roughly 30 metres of wall, shared by three artists: Daido Moriyama, Miyu Yamada and Bruce Osborn. Anyone walking through town can see it, at any hour.
02 AMIGO MARKET (adjoining CINEMA AMIGO)
Works will also be on view at AMIGO MARKET, which adjoins CINEMA AMIGO, a cinema long known as a cultural hub of Zushi. It is a presentation set within a place woven into the daily life of this seaside town.
ABOUT ZUSHI ART FESTIVAL
Launched in 2013 by a group of local residents, Zushi Art Festival reaches its 14th edition in 2026. As a special edition held once every three years, it centres on the historic former Honda Residence and unfolds across the whole town — the Zushi town area, the alleyways of Numama, Ikego Forest Park and more — with exhibitions, a music programme and community-participation projects. Its theme is “A Future of Beginnings, A Place of Beginnings.”
