Concept
Extracting tremendous color from beautiful paint and blending oil and light. The purpose of magic lies in the reenactment of mythology.
Rather than imitation, I invoke inspiration—that is, I reenact mythology in painting through magical practice.
I reconstruct mythology based on the ancient European polytheistic world and the world believed in by modern witches who have revived goddess worship.
While depicting a fantastical world, I do not invite the viewer to the world of “the other side.” Rather, I create with the awareness that the painting is coming toward “this side” of the world, which represents my stance of standing in this world and creating paintings.
Just as tree branches seen in darkness always appear in colors we normally cannot see, I paint while gazing at colors that are normally invisible.
