Concept
I cannot keep up with the amount of information in reality, and my imagination does not work sufficiently. The simplified, organized, two-dimensional deformed world allows me to feel various forms of reality. However, I believe I should not give up on reality. No matter how inferior my reality is compared to others, I find meaning in life by grasping and feeling even the slightest threads of reality.
In my case, I have no choice but to begin my expression from the two-dimensional world where I can feel reality. Usually I doodle characters without narrative on my PC or notebook, created for posting on SNS, but these characters are so fragile they cannot stand alone without me, and they seem to resemble me a little. Within painting, I attempt to unravel and release these characters with their linear drawn bodies back into mere lines. While untangling various elements and exploring what is truly essential, I wish to feel even a little bit of reality.
I think there are few people who expose their weakness as much as I do. I want to find the originality and identity of my expression within that very weakness.
