I create works based on interests and questions that arise from the environment and dialogue in my surroundings. I primarily present pictorial expressions that reflect human will.
Since the 2013 solo exhibition “Additions to Traces,” which was held in 2020 and involved layering drawings over the belongings of others, my interest in people living in the present has grown even stronger. I construct subtle changes in the world expanding from before my eyes as parts of my works, and repeatedly record (create) them in real time as the form of the world.
I agree with the words spoken by numerous painters, “To live is to paint,” and move my brush in the studio daily.
