biscuit gallery will hold a solo exhibition “nekis” by contemporary artist Nagisa Tsuji starting October 18, 2025 (Saturday).
On the opening day, October 18 (Saturday) from 16:00-19:00, an opening party will be held with the artist in attendance.
The solo exhibition “nekis” is Tsuji’s second solo exhibition and the first solo exhibition held at biscuit gallery.
This exhibition will be centered around the “nekis series” that has been previously presented.
“Nekis” treats the “Nike of Samothrace” as a single “species” like amphibians or birds, and names it ; it is a fiction of collecting these as specimens.
Just as one observes wild birds, I go out to photograph outdoors.
The collected specimens are preserved and collected.
The accompanying landscape photographs serve as captions indicating where the specimen was found, or as backgrounds of photographs (as if) recording its behavior.
This specimen is something to appreciate the fictional organism , while also allowing observation of what kind of material layer collage is.
What is supported by that thin pin is merely a thin scrap of paper that seems about to fly away, and the shadow it casts is also opaque and flimsy.
Those from different times and different places overlap in one panel.

Please look forward to the exhibition space created by promising artist Nagisa Tsuji.
