Is abstraction a more vivid reality?
Is it painting or bleeding?
Nakabayashi paints something like bleeding that resembles forests and rivers on a smooth support surface using automatism and quick brushstrokes.
Street trees unnaturally cut so as not to go onto the road—she who was never listened to—and flowing garden water—he who is protected from people and never leaves the darkness—what at first glance appears to be landscape painting is expressed as vivid realities of people. What is depicted there constantly changes depending on the viewer’s background and the world’s issues, and can become a device that makes one experience the body of painting and imagine the pain of others.
