This time, biscuit gallery (Shoto, Shibuya Ward) will hold a double solo exhibition “Can you see the sky after forgetting the word sky?” by artist Shimpei Yoshida and minori.
The exhibition period is from Thursday, January 12, 2023 to Sunday, January 29, 2023.
In this exhibition, the 1F will feature a two-person exhibition by both artists, the 2F will feature Shimpei Yoshida’s solo exhibition, and the 3F will feature minori’s solo exhibition.

In recent years, Shimpei Yoshida has been actively presenting his works through exhibitions both domestically and internationally, as well as participating in art fairs. This time, using the 2F floor of the gallery, he will hold his first exhibition at biscuit gallery.

Shimpei Yoshida｜Shimpei Yoshida
Born in Nara Prefecture in 1992.
Graduated from Kyoto University of Arts in 2014.
Working primarily with painting as his medium, he is currently based in Tokyo. He paints portraits in quiet and subdued colors. In 2018, he participated in an artist-in-residence program at the artist space in Germany. Since then, he has been developing a series of colored pencil portraits based on found photos, as well as installation works inspired by his own private experiences.

Since the first solo exhibition “Little Voice” held in May 2021, this is minori’s first solo exhibition at biscuit gallery in approximately one year. The exhibition venue is the 3F of the gallery. At “GEISAI#21” held this year, minori received triple awards including the Otani Workshop Award/ob Award/Morimori Murata Award and Jurors’ Award.

이번에 biscuit gallery(시부야구 쇼토)에서는 미술작가 Shimpei Yoshida와 minori에 의한 더블 개인전 「공이라는 말을 잊고 공을 볼 수 있습니까?」를 개최합니다.
전시 기간은 2023년 1월 12일(목)부터 1월 29일(일)까지입니다.
이번 전시에서는 1F에서는 작가 2명에 의한 2인전을, 2F에서는 Shimpei Yoshida 개인전, 그리고 3F에서는 minori 개인전을 개최합니다.

1992년 나라현 출생
2014년 교토조형예술대학 졸업
회화를 주요 매체로 삼으며, 현재 도쿄를 거점으로 활동. 조용하고 절제된 색감의 초상화를 그리고 있습니다. 2018년 독일의 아티스트 스페이스 〈FRISE〉에서 아티스트 인 레지던스에 참여. 이후 파운드 포토를 주제로 한 색연필 초상화 시리즈 및 자신의 프라이빗한 경험에서 영감을 얻은 인스톨레이션 작품을 전개하고 있습니다.

「점과 선」이라는 개념을 제작에 도입하여, 선을 긋는다는 행위 자체의 양면성과 그 결과가 초래하는 다양한 사상을 회화, 인스톨레이션, 말을 통해 표현하려고 시도하고 있습니다. 현재 도쿄를 거점으로 활동.
