Concept
When observing the dizzying phenomena occurring outside one’s home, there is a sense of déjà vu similar to gazing at a long scroll painting, while simultaneously becoming aware of an overlooking gaze that suggests one is always being watched.
It is felt as a compassionate gaze directed toward the entire space, much like peering into a baby monitor installed in one’s home for one’s child, or bringing a sense of comfort from being watched over by moonlight streaming through the window into the room.
In this work, a bluish moonlight illuminates the entire painting as a gaze imagining narratives from an overhead perspective, and within that light, the inseparable relationship between girls and animals is depicted from an intimate viewpoint.
