このたび、biscuit gallery が取り扱う作家・網代幸介の米国初となる個展「Excavation Record I – Sayonara」が、ニューヨーク・トライベッカの GR gallery にて開催されます。会期は2026年9月12日（土）から10月24日（土）まで。初日にはオープニングレセプション（18:00 – 20:00）が開かれます。

We are delighted to announce that Kosuke Ajiro, represented by biscuit gallery, will present his first solo exhibition in the United States, “Excavation Record I – Sayonara”, at GR gallery in Tribeca, New York, from September 12 through October 24, 2026, with an opening reception on the first day, 6:00 – 8:00 pm.
New York is the city that set Ajiro on his path as an artist, and it holds a special significance for him. The feelings he brings to this exhibition, held in that very city, are no less profound. We hope you will join us.
Artist Statement
As a child, a figure in a doodle I drew without thinking was one day named “Sally”, as though I had received a revelation. Sally became a servant of the king, then the queen of a kingdom, and at last took the form of a god.
Ever since, I have continued to work as though excavating fragments of a kingdom that lies sleeping beneath the earth.
As the excavation progressed, not only humans and animals but gods and mythical beasts revealed themselves, and history and mythology were born. My paintings and objects are restorations of the relics found through that excavation.
The Kingdom of Sally is said to have endured from before the Common Era into the medieval period, yet its full extent remains unknown.
I dream of uncovering this kingdom in its entirety.
And one day I hope to build a place to house the fragments I have found.
A place like a temple, where stories are enshrined.

biscuit gallery 소속 작가 아지로 코스케(網代幸介)의 미국 첫 개인전 ‘Excavation Record I – Sayonara’가 뉴욕 트라이베카의 GR gallery에서 열립니다. 전시 기간은 2026년 9월 12일(토)부터 10월 24일(토)까지이며, 첫날에는 오프닝 리셉션(18:00 – 20:00)이 열립니다.
뉴욕은 아지로가 아티스트로서의 삶을 걷기 시작한 계기가 된, 특별한 의미를 지닌 도시입니다. 그 도시에서 여는 이번 전시에 작가가 쏟는 마음 또한 각별합니다. 많은 기대 부탁드립니다.
작가 노트
어린 시절, 무심코 그리던 낙서 속 인물은 어느 날 계시를 받은 듯 ‘샐리’라는 이름을 얻었습니다. 샐리는 왕의 신하가 되었고, 이윽고 한 나라의 여왕이 되었으며, 마침내 신으로 모습을 바꾸어 갔습니다.
그 후로 저는 흙 속에 잠든 왕국의 파편을 발굴하듯 작업을 이어 오고 있습니다.
발굴이 진행될수록 인간과 동물뿐 아니라 신들과 환수가 모습을 드러냈고, 역사와 신화가 태어났습니다. 회화와 오브제는 그 발굴로 찾아낸 유물의 복원입니다.
샐리 왕국은 기원전부터 중세까지 이어졌다고 전해지지만, 그 전모는 아직 밝혀지지 않았습니다.
저는 이 왕국의 전모를 밝혀내기를 꿈꾸고 있습니다.
그리고 언젠가, 찾아낸 파편을 담을 장소를 만들고 싶습니다.
이야기를 봉헌하는, 신전과 같은 장소를.
