西浦裕太（Yuta Nishiura）個展「ハロー、ボイジャー」

The twin Voyagers, launched forty-six years ago, are still swimming through outer space at this very moment.
For instance, even to reach the Sirius that floats among the stars in the night sky, they have another three hundred thousand years of journey ahead of them.
On the so-called Golden Record they carry are recordings of thunder and rain, the voices of animals and insects, music of many kinds — and, in more than fifty languages, the spoken words “Hello, how are you.” A greeting from Earth to whoever may be out there.
Perhaps the moment our message reaches someone, somewhere, will be long after both the Sun and the Earth have vanished. And yet, when I imagine the instant that someone places a needle on the record, and the long journey of the twins up to that point, my heart grows warm and aches a little.
The endless, imaginative story that Voyager shows us has, I think, something in common with the infinite world of imagination that art draws us into.
