Statement
The shimmer of tree leaves swaying in the wind, the warm lingering resonance of exchanged words.
When I touch upon fleeting moments of happiness that suddenly appear in everyday life, I think of how they cannot last forever, and more so, how they could be threatened just a second later, and I sometimes hold a faint sense of resignation.
And I am astonished by the fact that I exist within a miracle that includes present-ness and locality, and simply stand speechless.
So that this sensation does not dissipate like mist, I use the happy scenes burned into my mind as a starting point, depicting and preserving a world that is serene yet carries an ominous atmosphere.
This act both brings to light the contours of humble miracles buried in daily life, and grasps a glimpse of universality hidden in the depths of my own personal memory, confirming a fundamental connection with others that transcends time and place.
