Taking as motifs striking images found on the internet and film scenes—”stories seen somewhere before.” With the theme of “what is visible / what is invisible,” he uses brushstrokes unique to oil painting to sometimes faithfully reproduce and sometimes paint over ambiguously, converting memorized images into paintings.

“When I paint, I drip oil generously onto the canvas before moving my brush. In doing so, while maintaining noise within the picture plane, the paint bleeds, drips, and mixes, giving rise to various memories and symbols. Within the square picture plane, I move back and forth between what takes form and what does not in order to create the painting.”
