Concept
The artist, currently studying oil painting as an undergraduate, creates work by focusing on materials and motifs, fluidly moving between abstraction and representation.
Do the colors and shapes that question the viewer’s perception represent the micro or the macro? On a canvas without a limited viewpoint, the canvas itself, paint, food, plants, people—everything is treated equally.
In an approach to art-making that transcends technique and materials, what emerges is the artist’s fundamental value system and the gaze with which she observes this world.
