Statement
My work centers on capturing constantly changing thoughts and emotions. To express this change, I employ an intuitive technique called “automatism” (automatic writing) in my creative process, accessing the realm of the unconscious. In daily life, thoughts and emotions are always in flux, sometimes ambiguous and difficult to grasp. However, I perceive this as the essence of humanity and as the natural “distortion” of life. Through my work, my aim is to observe and express this moment-to-moment change.
In the creative process, it is important to record the flow of emotions and thoughts without affirming or denying them, simply documenting their existence. Just as clouds floating in the sky continually change shape, our inner worlds also continuously take on new forms. I carefully observe these forms and reflect their transience and beauty in my work through color and form.
We all live in this world filled with change while on an emotional journey. Within that journey, there come moments that shine. These are like the “light” that exists within each of us—within myself, within the viewer, within everyone. I express through my work the moments when this light flickers yet shines, bringing new discoveries within change.
