biscuit gallery (Shinjuku) is pleased to announce the second edition of “grid next: Emerging Artists Showcase 2025,” a popular open call exhibition that received great acclaim last year. The exhibition will run from August 30 (Saturday) to September 14 (Sunday).
biscuit gallery has actively introduced promising young contemporary art artists from Japan.
Additionally, starting in 2024, we are actively expanding globally under the slogan “Global Action.” We are committed to actively promoting our work with contemporary art artists who can thrive both domestically and globally.
This exhibition “grid next: Emerging Artists Showcase 2025” is a project that broadly solicits applications from art university students and contemporary art artists, targeting artists who have not previously exhibited at biscuit gallery.
This second edition, following the previous one, will be held in collaboration with AWASE gallery, which shares a floor in the new space in Shinjuku. In the selection process, we conducted the review jointly with AWASE gallery director Kohei Yamada.

biscuit gallery（신주쿠）에서는 지난해 호평을 받은 인기 공모 기획전 grid next의 제2탄 「grid next：Emerging Artists Showcase 2025」를 개최하게 되었습니다. 전시 기간은 8월 30일(토)부터 9월 14일(일)까지입니다.
biscuit gallery는 그동안 일본 국내의 주목할만한 현대미술 젊은 미술작가들을 적극적으로 소개해왔습니다.
또한 2024년부터 「Global Action」을 슬로건으로 해외에 적극 진출해나갑니다. 저희는 국내는 물론 글로벌하게 활동할 수 있는 현대미술작가와의 작업을 적극적으로 추진해나가겠습니다.
본 전시 「grid next：Emerging Artists Showcase 2025」는 그동안 biscuit gallery에서의 전시 실적이 없는 작가를 대상으로 미대생 및 미술작가 여러분으로부터 널리 응모를 모집하는 기획입니다.
지난번에 이어 2회째 개최되는 본 전시는 신주쿠의 새로운 공간에서 같은 층에 위치한 AWASE gallery와의 공동 개최로 진행됩니다. 선정 과정에서도 AWASE gallery의 디렉터 야마다 야스헤이 씨와 함께 선정을 진행했습니다.
