biscuit gallery will be relocating this spring from its current location in Shibuya to a building a 3-minute walk from Shinjuku Station.
The new space is a gallery complex called “nudge field” that will be jointly operated by biscuit gallery and the newly established AWASE gallery.

Since its opening in March 2021 on Shibuya’s Shoto Culture Street, biscuit gallery has handled over 200 artists, primarily promising young artists, and has gained broad support both domestically and internationally. As we approach the fifth year of our establishment in 2025, we have decided to relocate our space to further promote global expansion and the pursuit of our gallery mission.
With this relocation, biscuit gallery welcomes Yukako Atsushi as our new director, and we will strengthen our overseas development and artist development efforts while actively engaging in collaborations with AWASE gallery.
We will establish a more enriched exhibition environment and a new foundation for our activities.
nudge field
nudge field has a total area of approximately 50 tsubo and consists of 3 exhibition floors. Under the direction of Riku Matsui and two designers, one floor of a long-established building has been newly transformed.
The third exhibition room connecting the exhibition spaces of both galleries is named “On” and will be operated as a shared space for biscuit gallery and AWASE gallery. Here, while centering on fine art exhibitions, we will also engage in diverse activities including architect presentations, children’s workshops, collaborative projects with communities and corporations, and artist support programs. Starting from this space, we aim to expand our network both internally and externally, creating a place where new creative activities can emerge.
※About “nudge field”
“Nudge” carries the meaning of gently pushing someone’s behavior forward, and we hope that each exhibition will serve as an encouragement or catalyst for someone. “Field” means a space, and also carries the meaning that this space will be utilized by artists as a place for fieldwork.
The opening exhibition is scheduled to begin on June 15, 2025 (Sunday) with a two-person exhibition by Akiko Horio and Sawako Nasu.
Additionally, AWASE gallery will also be holding a two-person exhibition “余りをみた” by Kohei Yamada and Masahiro Sekiguchi. Please look forward to it.

항상 biscuit gallery를 이용해 주셔서 감사합니다.
이번에 biscuit gallery는 올봄 현재의 시부야에서 신주쿠역 도보 3분 거리의 건물로 이전하게 되었습니다.
새로운 공간은 biscuit gallery와 새롭게 탄생하는 AWASE gallery가 함께 운영하는 갤러리 컴플렉스 「nudge field」입니다.
「nudge field」전시 공간의 일부
biscuit gallery는 2021년 3월 시부야·마츠가야 문화촌 거리에서의 개업 이래, 신진기예의 젊은 아티스트를 중심으로 지금까지 200명 이상의 작가를 다루어 왔으며 국내외에서 광범위한 지지를 받아왔습니다. 창설 5년째를 맞이하는 2025년을 계기로 더욱 글로벌한 전개와 갤러리 미션 수행을 추진하기 위해 공간 이전을 결정했습니다.
이번 이전을 계기로 biscuit gallery는 厚地由佳子를 새로운 디렉터로 맞이하여 해외 전개 및 아티스트 육성을 강화하고, AWASE gallery와의 협업 등을 적극적으로 추진해 나갈 것입니다.
더욱 충실한 전시 환경과 새로운 활동의 기반을 정비하겠습니다.
nudge field
nudge field는 전체 약 50평의 넓이를 가지고 있으며, 3개의 전시 층으로 구성됩니다. 松井陸을 비롯하여 디자이너 2명의 디렉션으로 오랫동안 사용되어 온 역사 있는 건물의 1층이 새롭게 태어났습니다.
두 갤러리의 전시실을 연결하는 제3의 전시실은 「On」이라고 명명되었으며, biscuit gallery와 AWASE gallery의 공유 공간으로 운영됩니다. 여기서는 미술가의 전시를 중심으로 진행하면서 건축가의 발표, 어린이 대상 워크숍, 지역 및 기업과의 공동 프로젝트, 아티스트 지원 프로그램 등 다양한 활동에도 취할 것입니다. 이 공간을 기점으로 내외로 네트워크를 확대하여 새로운 창조적인 활동이 생겨나는 장을 만들어 나갈 것을 목표로 합니다.
※「nudge field」에 대하여
「nudge」에는 행동을 살짝 밀어준다는 의미가 포함되어 있으며, 하나하나의 전시가 누군가에게 밀어주는 것이 되거나 무언가의 계기가 되기를 바랍니다. 「field」는 장소라는 의미 외에도 이 공간이 작가에게는 현지 조사의 장으로 활용되어 나간다는 의미도 담고 있습니다.
기사낙의 첫 전시는 2025년 6월 15일(일)부터 堀尾昭子와 那須佐和子의 2인전을 예정하고 있습니다.
