Concept
Drawing lines from paper into space. For me, drawing is not a fixed image, but a material with definite mass that continues to generate.
A transparent vessel assembled from lines cut out of acrylic plates and the traces of their absence. Originally one, these are not merely a relationship of “inside and outside.” The boundary is not a frame containing the lines, but the space itself that emerges through the absence of lines.
When light enters, the structure transforms again. Deviating from its physical form, shadows that distort and overlap expose the condition that form cannot be fixed—the difference between substance and phenomenon. This work is continually redrawn with the passage of light and has no final form. The transparent structure dissolves boundaries, and shadows permeate the entire space. I am dealing with a fluid “state of lines” that repeats generation and dissolution through time.
