このたび、biscuit gallery(渋谷区松濤)を運営する株式会社biscuitは、軽井沢の追分地区に2店舗目となるスペー スをオープンする運びになりました。新しいギャラリーは「biscuit gallery karuizawa」として、複合施設「s t i l l(シュティル)」の2階に構えます。

新スペース「biscuit gallery karuizawa」では、2023年7月8日スタートで「城蛍 個展」を皮切りに、国内外さま ざまなアーティストによる展覧会が予定されています。
今回入居する「s t i l l(シュティル)」は、⻑野県軽井沢を拠点に、東京・コペンハーゲンにて実店舗を持つ、北 欧家具や雑貨、飲食店を取り扱う株式会社halutaが運営する複合施設です。ドイツ語で「静けさ」を意味する「still 」には、現在家具ショップの他にピッツェリアやレストラン、テーラーが入居しており、今後はホテルやサウナな どがオープン予定です。
s t i l lは、家具販売や建築を行う株式会社halutaが運営する複合施設で、ドイツ語で『静寂』という意味。 心穏やかに静かに過ごしてほしいという思いから名付けられました。 不特定多数の人を集めるといった従来の複合施設の在り方ではなく、特定多数の人に限定し、解放された時間の提 供を目指しています。館内は優れた断熱性能により、一年を通し快適な室内環境を保っています。
アーティストinレジデンス「Atelier BLÅ」
複合施設「s t i l l(シュティル)」の近隣には、アトリエ兼住居施設「Atelier BLÅ」(運営:株式会社haluta)が 今秋オープン予定です。
biscuit gallery karuizawaでは、アーティストが生活をしながら制作活動を行えるアトリエ兼住居施設の提供支援も 行って参ります。

At the new space “biscuit gallery karuizawa,” starting July 8, 2023, exhibitions by various artists from Japan and abroad are planned, beginning with a solo exhibition by Shiro Hotaru titled “食卓にて孕む”.

biscuit gallery is now in its third year of operation. With an approach different from our operations in Tokyo’s Shibuya, we have decided to open “biscuit gallery karuizawa” to create opportunities for a wide range of exhibitions for emerging artists. We wanted to distance ourselves from the busy contemporary art scene in Tokyo and create a place where people can calmly and slowly engage with art. Rooted in the nature-rich Karuizawa and Oiwake district, we provide a relaxed viewing experience.
The “s t i l l (still)” facility we are moving into is a complex facility operated by haluta Inc., which is based in Karuizawa, Nagano and has physical stores in Tokyo and Copenhagen, handling Nordic furniture, miscellaneous goods, and dining establishments. “Still,” which means “quietness” in German, currently houses a furniture shop, pizzeria, restaurant, and tailor, with plans for a hotel and sauna to open in the future.

From the design stage, Nordic insulation knowledge and technology, which are advanced in housing, have been incorporated, making it a rare facility in Karuizawa that is warm in winter and cool in summer regardless of outside temperature. The building’s windows feature triple glazing, and wooden frames with insulation performance 300 times that of resin imported from Denmark, as well as rockwool, are used, ensuring comfort year-round. It is a residential-type facility where visitors can enjoy art as well as Nordic furniture and cuisine.
An atelier-cum-residence facility “Atelier BLÅ” is also scheduled to open nearby in the fall, and will work in coordination with a space where artists can stay and produce work.
What is the Complex Facility “s t i l l (still)”?
s t i l l is a complex facility operated by haluta Inc., which handles furniture sales and architecture, with the German word “still” meaning “silence.” It was named with the hope that visitors will spend time peacefully and quietly. Rather than the traditional approach of complex facilities that bring together unspecified numbers of people, it aims to provide released time limited to a specific group of people. The facility maintains a comfortable indoor environment year-round through excellent insulation performance.

Near the complex facility “s t i l l (still),” an atelier-cum-residence facility “Atelier BLÅ” (operated by haluta Inc.) is scheduled to open this fall.

설계 단계부터 주택 선진국인 북유럽의 단열 지식과 기술을 도입하여, 가루이자와치고는 드문 외기에 관계없이 겨울은 따뜻하고 여름은 시원한 시설입니다. 건물의 창은 트리플글래스이며, 나아가 덴마크에서 수입한 수지의 300배에 달하는 단열 성능이 있는 목재 새시와 록울을 채택하여, 연중 쾌적하게 지낼 수 있습니다. 북유럽에 뿌리내린 풍요로운 마음의 가구와 식사를 즐길 수 있는 시설 내에서, 아트 외에도 즐길 수 있는 체류형 시설입니다.
인근에는 아틀리에 겸 주거시설 「Atelier BLÅ」도 가을 무렵 오픈 예정이 되어 있으며, 아티스트가 체류 제작할 수 있는 장소와도 연동되어갑니다.
