Statement

I paint the rustling of forests and passing breezes, pale sunlight gently enveloping flowers and plants, and the tactile sensations and subtle presences of air, seeking to create landscapes within exhibition spaces.
The tactile sensations and presences inherent in landscapes, the unique qualities and scenes of motifs, and the texture and materiality of brushwork are repeatedly selected and refined to complement one another.
By layering soft, finely-textured fabric or scraping and exposing surfaces, the emergent flowers and air create painterly spaces with physical depth, bringing forth the certain presence of flowers and the light and air that surrounds them.
