Concept
Blue is the color of the sea, the origin of all living things, and also the color of death without temperature. The ability to hold contradictory images suggests that life and death are manifestations of concepts that encompass one another. The way two things sometimes sway and intersect as if becoming one, a color with the sensation of constantly changing moments—perhaps this is why I and many others are captivated by this color, seeking to sublimate and pursue diverse emotions. After the earthquake in 2011, the fleeting sensation I had vaguely carried with me became clear, and because of that, I came to feel that the world in which I live is stronger and more beautiful. Through a blue world, I wish to depict the ephemeral strength and beauty of the environment and people, self and other, swaying and intersecting.
