biscuit gallery（Shibuya）is pleased to announce its first open call group exhibition, “grid next : Emerging Artists Showcase.” It will be launched in August, 2024.

 

biscuit gallery has been actively introducing young Japanese artists of note, and in 2024 we will actively expand overseas under the slogan “Global Action.”
We will continue to pursue partnerships with artists who are active not only domestically but also globally.

This exhibition, “grid next” is open to art students and artists who have not exhibited at biscuit gallery before.

The exhibition format will be the same as the anniversary exhibition “grid”, where multiple works by one artist will be displayed on one wall section.

In addition, three of the participating artists will be invited to hold solo exhibitions at the exhibition.

【Exhibition Information】

“grid next : Emerging Artists Showcase”
Dates: Aug 10 (Sat) – Aug 25 (Sun)　*Subject to change
Installation: Aug 8 (Thu), Aug 9 (Fri)

【Application Outline】
Where to apply:  Fill out the application form
Number of artists: ~25 
Application period: Jan 1 –  May 31, 2024
Screening results: Applicants will be notified by the end of May *Screening will be conducted on a case-by-case basis

【Application Requirements】
・Artists who have not yet exhibited at biscuit gallery and who are aiming to become professionals
・Students or those up to 40 years of age
・Artists who are capable of exhibiting their works at biscuit gallery (Shibuya), including two-dimensional, three-dimensional and video artists
・Residents of Japan who are able to set up the exhibition by themselves or by proxy, and who are able to remove and pick up their artwork after the exhibition. Removal is scheduled for Aug 26
・When applying, please submit an image of the work to be exhibited, or a reference image similar to the work to be exhibited
・Works to be exhibited must be new, never before exhibited works that are available for sale
・The gallery will be responsible for the location at the time of the exhibition
・No application or exhibition fee

【Prize】
Based on a voting system by visitors, the response rate of SNS users, and a screening by the director of biscuit gallery, three artists will be selected to have a solo exhibition on one floor at biscuit gallery.
The exhibition will be called “SOLO SOLO SOLO” and is scheduled to be held November 2024.

The terms and conditions for the sale of artwork are in accordance with biscuit gallery’s standard contract.
