About Gallery Relocation

We sincerely appreciate your continued support of biscuit gallery.

This spring, biscuit gallery will be relocating from its current location in Shibuya to a building just a three-minute walk from Shinjuku Station.

The new space, “nudge field,” will be a gallery complex jointly operated by biscuit gallery and the newly established AWASE gallery.

Since our opening in March 2021 on Shoto Bunkamura Street in Shibuya, biscuit gallery has showcased over 200 artists, focusing on emerging talents and gaining widespread recognition both domestically and internationally. As the gallery enters its fifth year in 2025, it has decided to relocate to further expand globally and fulfill its mission.

With this move, we welcome Yukako Atsuchi as its new director, strengthening its efforts in international expansion, artist development, and collaborations, including joint projects with AWASE gallery. This relocation will provide an enhanced exhibition environment and establish a solid foundation for new initiatives.

nudge field

nudge field spans approximately about 165 square meters and consists of three exhibition floors. Under the direction of Riku Matsui and two designers, a long-cherished floor of a historic building has been revitalized into a fresh new space.

The third exhibition space connecting the two galleries is named “on” and will serve as a shared space operated by both biscuit gallery and AWASE gallery. While primarily hosting exhibitions by visual artists, it will also accommodate presentations by architects, children’s workshops, collaborative projects with local communities and businesses, and artist support programs. Through this space, we aim to expand networks both locally and internationally, fostering a hub for new creative activities to emerge.

※ about「nudge field」
The word “nudge” carries the meaning of gently encouraging action, reflecting our hope that each exhibition will serve as a push or inspiration for someone. “Field” not only signifies a place but also implies that this space will function as a fieldwork site for artists, providing them with an environment for exploration and creative development.

We will provide further updates on exhibition plans and other details for the new space in due course. Information will be shared regularly via our email newsletter. Please subscribe here.
