Referring to her practice, she writes, \u201cThe purpose of magic is to recreate myths.\u00a0What I do is not imitation, rather I channel inspiration. In other words, I recreate myths through my painting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The whole of this process is, to her, witchcraft. These myths are reconstructed from the polytheistic world of European antiquity and the world believed in by modern witches, who have revived the worship of goddesses. Goto also holds the stance that her practice of drawing fantasy worlds is not meant to invite the viewer over into \u201cthe other side,\u201d but rather to try to bring them into \u201cthis side\u201d of the world. When you stare at the bark of a tree in darkness for long enough, you&#8217;ll begin to see colors that were previously invisible.
